Chris grew up in Gregory, South Dakota. After graduating from USD in 2001, he and his wife moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he spent 14 years as the Tournament Director and Golf Instructor at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club.

In 2015 he, along with his wife Amy and their two children (Keegan/12 and Ashlynn/7) moved back to South Dakota where Chris became the First Assistant at Minnehaha Country Club. In 2019 Chris was awarded his Class A Membership to the PGA of America.
